Blibli CEO Questioned in Indonesia’s Chromebook Corruption Probe

Indonesia's corruption investigation into the Ministry of Education's Chromebook procurement has escalated, with Blibli CEO Kusumo Martanto summoned as a witness. The probe focuses on inflated contracts for 1.2 million laptops during 2019-2022, potentially costing the state $120 million.

Tech executives from major firms including former GoTo and Bukalapak leaders are being drawn into the widening scandal. Prosecutors emphasize this exposes systemic leakage in education funding—historically, up to half of allocated budgets never reach intended beneficiaries.

Martanto's questioning follows similar sessions with directors from Tritunggal Jaya Komputindo, Aneka Sakti Bakti, and Tera Data Indonesia. The Attorney General's Office maintains Blibli remains a witness rather than a suspect in the ongoing evidence collection.
